The Jarvis history of refrigeration dates back over 100 years ago. It started with Rick’s grandfather, Edward H. Jarvis Sr., who maintained refrigerated milk tanks in the dairy industry. His son, Edward Jarvis Jr., started his refrigeration career while serving our country in the United States Air Force during the 50s. He worked on all aspects of the HVAC/R trade, including walk-in coolers and freezers.
Upon being honorably discharged from military service, he continued his work in the HVAC/R trade, servicing residential and commercial buildings. He worked for a mechanical contractor in Orlando until 1992 when he decided to start Mechanical Refrigeration, Inc. with his family by his side. The business grew and has since expanded to include industrial refrigeration, specializing in everything from glycol chillers to refrigerated warehouses.
The growth created a move to a 17,000 square foot building which is where MRI currently operates. Today, Edward Jr’s son, Rick, has the same vision that his dad had of putting customers and quality service first.
