Edward Jarvis, wife Dorothy and sons Rick and Eddie, set up the company. The business grew to the families satisfaction and more room was needed. The move was made to a larger facility. The business became a very solid base and in 1997 the company purchased a 17,000 square foot office/warehouse building in Winter Haven and began a division of MRI for specialty product manufacturing. The new division is Refrigeration Design and Manufacturing. RD&M has over 150 years of combined experience of the Jarvis family members that enables them to offer a variety of customized systems to meet the requirements of any refrigeration need. They specialize in quick coolers and freezers, storage coolers and freezers, glycol chillers and energy efficient hot gas defrost systems. This is accomplished with the RD&M designed custom-built parallel compressor rack systems. Rick Jarvis states " Refrigeration Design and Manufacturing works with the customer to create the best possible system to satisfy his needs. Major potential customers for our products and services include theme parks, food process and research facilities, food distribution facilities and mobile tank lines. We also offer the capability of retrofitting existing systems for increased efficiency. Once the system is designed and construction is completed, we work with the installer side by side through the final test and check on start-up. Even beyond that, we are available 24 hours a day for assistance on any problem of performance question that may arise. And that is one of the strongest service points of the company, you always get to talk to people.
